Carolyn Smith
Strategic Planning and Facilitation Specialist

"If you want to go quickly, go alone, if you want to go farther, go together!" I'm passionate about the power of collective action to create change! That starts with a shared vision. But a vision without a plan to back it is just a beautiful dream. Effective planning is a powerful tool for bringing vision to life, igniting energy, building collective commitment, bringing focus, and creating action!

Kia ora, I'm Carolyn Smith, the creator of Woven Collaboration.

The name is derived from the whakatauki/proverb that 'many cords together are strong.'

Creating a shared purpose, and bringing together our collective ideas, experiences, knowledge, values, energy and resources, is the way we create transformational change!

My expertise lies in designing approaches that enables collective dreaming and planning.

I draw from research, training and experiences with different models and methodologies on facilitation, collaboration and strategic planning, to design simplified processes that deliver clear, achievable and measurable outcomes.

I have worked with a diverse range of organisations, programmes, and projects including NGO's and community organisations, central and local Government, social enterprise, education, and tangata whenua.

I have qualifications and training in strategy, communications, engagement, facilitation, conflict resolution, project and programme management and leadership.

Outside of work you'll find me hanging out with whānau and friends, exploring new and beautiful places.

I'm also a keen volunteer, on to my seventh year as an impact coach for school principals via Springboard Trust, a community leadership mentor with Volunteering Northland/Mentoring NZ, and helping out with events and shows at OneOneSix community venue space.
